Jan concluded his studies at the Katholieke Universiteit Brabant (now Tilburg University) in 2002. After finishing his practice in Spong advocaten in Amsterdam, Jan began working as a lawyer in Breda for Houben and Quarler-Jurgens, among others. At Gimbrere International Advocaten, he specialises mainly in (International) Criminal Law.
